Hi, I just spoke with the amazing Jon Hendricks who really … pardon me … Rocks!  What an incredible man and his wife Judith is a real gem!  Our company, Backstage Productions International, recently started handling his music catalogue in Canada and  France.  I am so glad Billy Meshel and John Massa (Music & Media International) where able to ramp up the association.  Jon and Judith will be coming to Paris this fall for a couple of months and celebrating the holiday season with us. Jean Davoust, my French partner, and I will have lots of time to get to know this legendary singer, lyricist, writer, producer … how lucky we are! I expect to see Jon and Judith in New York in November before they leave for Paris – looking forward to that!

The fall is shaping up to be a busy season for Backstage Production. Over the past year we have been producing a documentary on our Funk Rockers Organic Funk and we are happy to let you know it has now been completed and the Trailer will be released shortly. The program is a timely piece and in addition to some of the great performances from the band’s Disneyland Paris concert and some very impressive re-enactments and studio performances, the host of the documentary, Music Historian & Broadcaster Holger Petersen, does a terrific job weaving the band and the audience through the process of what it takes to be a musician in today’s world. It is sure to be an eye opener for many upcoming artists who are seeking a career in music or anyone else who is intrigued by someone who aspires to the challenge. This “Celebration of Music” filmed at the Legendary Phase One Recording Studio in Toronto, Canada and at Disneyland Paris is sure to entertain, enlighten and be enjoyed by audiences everywhere. A DVD is also being scheduled for release and will include the full Paris Concert and also the Documentary Presentation with added bonus interviews. You can follow us online on the band’s website at www.organicfunk.ca. Chat with us at organicfunk.wordpress.com. The band is very friendly and would like to hear from you.

In addition to Backstage Productions video activity, producers Steve Thomson and David Bacha are in the completion stages of an 11 song album by new Canadian rock band Seberras-Dajnko. The album features a collection of great songs with dynamic musical arrangements and passionate vocals and a cast of great musicians including Eddie Harsch (Black Crowes fame) and some amazing string arrangements orchestrated by Luciano Lombardi. The album has a fresh new musical sound and the reaction to each song by a select group of music fans has been “Wow”! The CD is scheduled for release in the 1Q2013.

As everyone knows our Music Publishing catalogue continues to evolve with hit songs and soon to be hit songs being added daily. A new catalogue that we represent is that of Jon Hendricks and we have a lot of exciting plans for one of Jazz’ most compelling lyricist. At 91 years young, Jon show no signs of slowing down he embarks next month for a two month trip to Paris, France where he will be doing a series of interviews for a forthcoming DVD anthology collection and guest spots on a number of radio and television shows. Hey rumour also has it that there’s talk of a new Paris Jazz club call Chez Jon… nothing would surprise us!
